Denver USPS Targets 400 Mail-Processing Hires; Assistant Pay Starts at $19.02

The first advertised fair is scheduled for 10 a.m.–2 p.m. October 2 at 7500 E. 53rd Place. USPS’s 400-person figure is a hiring goal, not a count of open jobs.

The U.S. Postal Service has scheduled a Denver mail-processing hiring event for 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday, October 2, at the Denver Processing and Distribution Center, 7500 E. 53rd Place. USPS says it aims to hire 400 employees for its Denver facilities, primarily Mail Handler Assistants. That is a hiring target, not a count of current vacancies or completed hires.

For workers considering the role, USPS advertises $19.02 an hour to start for Mail Handler Assistants, with pay issued biweekly. The agency’s role description says assistants load, unload, move and process mail and packages.

More recruiting dates

The September 29 USPS announcement also lists events on October 3, 9, 10 and 26 and November 6 at two Denver processing centers. Applicants planning to attend a later event should check that announcement for its time and address.

Where to check an opening

USPS’s application instructions direct Mail Handler Assistant applicants to jobs.usps.com. General postal eligibility includes being at least 18, or 16 with a high-school diploma, and meeting citizenship or residency and screening requirements. Before applying, check a live vacancy notice for its employment type, schedule, precise qualifications and closing date: the recruiting announcement does not identify a verified individual Denver opening or its application deadline.
