UCHealth Posts $22.14–$28.78 Infusion-Pharmacy Job in Aurora With Advancement Ladder

UCHealth’s September 29 posting offers $22.14–$28.78 an hour for a full-time infusion-pharmacy technician job in Aurora. The employer also advertises a career ladder for the role, giving already-credentialed technicians a paid opportunity with room to take on greater responsibility.

The job is titled Pharmacy Technician Inpatient I, but its listed workplace is the ambulatory infusion pharmacy at Anschutz Outpatient Pavilion. Applicants need a high-school diploma or GED, Colorado Board of Pharmacy technician certification, and PTCB CPhT certification or an equivalent. This opening requires those credentials at entry; it is not a certification apprenticeship.

The work and the ladder

The on-site, day-shift schedule is 80 hours per two-week pay period. Duties include preparing sterile infusion medications and handling inventory and medication delivery for patients with cancer and other complex diseases. UCHealth prefers two years of sterile-compounding experience and experience with hazardous compounding, but lists those as preferences rather than minimum requirements. The advertised hourly rate depends on relevant experience.

UCHealth says technicians can advance through a ladder as their skills and expertise grow, with responsibilities and pay changing by level. The posting does not set out level-by-level criteria or a promotion timetable.

A separate route to education support

For existing employees pursuing the occupation, UCHealth’s Ascend tuition-assistance program lists pharmacy-technician certificates among its education options. Employees working at least half time may enroll in partially or fully funded programs after 90 days of employment. The page does not specify what a particular technician certificate, examination or licensing expense would cost an employee. That benefit is separate from the credentials required for this opening.
