Children’s Colorado Lists $36.92-an-Hour Nurse Residency With Oct. 16 Deadline

Children’s Hospital Colorado lists September 29 as the opening of applications for its March 2027 new-graduate nurse residency. Its Denver metro and Colorado Springs job postings advertise $36.92 an hour. The residency calendar gives an October 16 application deadline, although the Denver posting separately shows an estimated October 17 close.

For recent nursing graduates interested in pediatric care, these are full-time RN jobs with a scheduled March 1, 2027, start. Residents spend a year as hospital employees receiving classroom instruction, clinical training and support from preceptors. The postings list 36–40 hours a week, benefits eligibility and applicable shift differentials. They also specify rotating days and nights, plus weekend and holiday work.

Which units are hiring?

The Denver-area listing includes cardiac intensive and progressive care, neonatal and pediatric intensive care, medical and surgical floors, inpatient mental health, operating rooms and emergency departments. The Colorado Springs listing includes emergency, medical-surgical, neonatal and pediatric intensive care, psychiatric emergency and SPARC-E.

Children’s Colorado says hiring units change by cohort according to staffing needs. The listings identify areas recruiting for this cohort, but do not give a number of available positions or guarantee assignment to an applicant’s preferred unit. The hospital’s published program materials do not specify a separate residency participation fee or the cost of obtaining prerequisite credentials.

Credentials and application steps

The program generally calls for a bachelor’s nursing degree meeting its accreditation requirements and graduation within 12 months of the cohort start; it describes exemptions. The job listings also allow a master’s-entry-to-practice nursing degree. Passing the NCLEX and obtaining a Colorado or compact RN license are employment conditions, and the postings require BLS/CPR certification upon hire.

Applicants must submit an online job application and a questionnaire. Those seeking consideration in both regions need separate job applications. Interviews are scheduled for November 2–6, ahead of the March start; the program’s October 16 deadline is the earlier of the two close dates shown in the hospital’s materials.
